gorilla

"I need a gorilla because it's raining Mom."
"A what?"
"A gorilla for my head so I don't get wet."
"Oh, an umbrella!"

We're working on teaching Gen how to say umbrella, but I'm going to miss hearing her say that she needs a gorilla!

peanuts

Genevieve always knew there was a difference between us girls and those boys (daddy and Lucas), but now she has the words to go with those different parts. We use correct terminology in our house -- I want our kids to know what they're talking about and not be ashamed. Well, there was absolutely no shame as Gen ran up to Mike and declared, "daddy, you have peanuts!"

toilet already?

Yesterday Lucas decided that he wanted to use the potty. He went into the bathroom, lifted the lid to the toilet and tried to sit down. I lifted him up (fully clothed) to sit on the potty. He sat for a minute then got down where he proceeded to flush the toilet and wash his hands. Yeah, um, he's only 17 months old. I'm not quite ready to potty train!

songs

Genevieve loves to sing. One of the songs she sings is "Bingo". Gen will sing it at the top of her voice, "There was a farmer who had a gog and Bingo was his name-o E-I-Benji-O, E-I-Benji-O, E-I-Benji-O and Bingo was his naaaaaaame!" I've tried to correct her, but alas that gog's name will always be spelled E-I-Benji-O.

love me more!

So the other day I was at the end of my rope with the kids! I called Mike to calm myself down and try to regroup my thoughts. He didn't answer so I started to leave this message, "Mike which one of the kids do you love more because the other one is going to die!" Then Gen interrupts, "Love me daddy! Lucas is dying!" Needless to say that snapped me right out of it and we all just laughed. Thank the Lord for goofy girls!

my little cuties

So today Lucas woke up early -- while Genevieve was still resting (read playing in her room). I knew that soon enough Gen would hear us and want to come out so I let Luke go into her room to tell her that she could wake up. He trots in and all I hear is "Oh, it's my favorite hugger ever! Come give me a kiss!" Then the sound of giggles filled the air. If only they would act like that every day! :)
